Family Fitness FairSunday, April 25, 2010 1:00pm - 5:30pm Admission: $15 (includes T-shirt) Location: Panorama Farms Join Charlottesville Day School in celebrating Virginia's Youth Fitness Day at Panorama Farms! With foot races for
toddlers, big kids, and adults plus live
music, picnicing, biking, games of catch, and more, this event is guaranteed to get you fit -- and wear your kids out! This will be the
third annual event and is now in celebration of a state-wide initiative
to get kids active. No matter what you're doing with your gang,
Panorama Farms is a great setting. Plus, did we mention that a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Local Food Hub?

Got Mushroom?Saturday, April 10, 2010 9:00am - noon
Cost: $55 Location: Sharondale Farm, Cismont
Learn to grow gourmet and medicinal mushrooms in the city. This workshop will include discussions of mushroom biology, ecology & permaculture, and several hands-on small space gardening methods for cultivating mushrooms on logs, on coffee grounds, on cardboard, and other urban wastes! Every participant will take home a small bag of oyster mushroom spawn - this is an excellent species for growing mushrooms on many available urban resources.

Local Food Hub Workshop: Farm Planning and ManagementMonday, April 12, 2010 3:30pm - 6:00pm
Cost: free for partner producers / $40 general public Location: Educational Farm at Maple Hill Learn the basics of farm planning and management from Anthony Flaccavento and Steve and Adrianna Vargo, including succession planting, crop rotation, cover crops and soil testing.
