This business first started with Promised Land Farms in Boer goat production. These animals were not parasite tolerant and was found to be less in demand for this type of livestock. Then formed into katahdin and dorper breed sheep!
It all goes back to when we were young, at 12 years of age "What do you want to be when you grow up?, was what we heard all the time. We learned very quick that we wanted to do something that makes a difference, but also knew that it has all the responsibility. That was ok with us. We already learned what responsibility was! Then formed Sunny Brooke Farms. We put the knowledge and hard work together to start the best sheep breeding stock and meet production on the east coast! This has been a large portion of income to both families.
We also have poultry products and are taking orders for our meat variety chicken. This is the most remarkable meat producing bird we have ever seen. Special matings produce chicks with broad breasts, big thighs, white plumage, and yellow skin.
Our eggs sell very well. We will have many farm fresh, medium to large brown eggs late Feburary and early March. We intend on selling these solely at the Abingdon Farmers Market. However, we will also do some selling from the farm as well.
Thanks so much for your business! God Bless and have a great day!
