Mohop sandals are environmentally friendly, comfortable and allow nearly infinite design options with just one pair of wooden soles. Simply lace any ribbon through the sandal's patent-pending elastic loops to create your own one-of-a-kind, custom-fit pair! Mohop shoes are individually hand made by Annie Mohaupt in Chicago.

This innovative shoe has been dubbed the 'infinity sandal'. Essentially, the wearer can easily customize the shoes by changing the ribbons that tie the shoes on. Different lengths and styles of ribbons can be used to achieve a virtually infinite number of looks with just one pair of wooden soles. So anybody can play Imelda Marcos without requiring the budget and storage space for 5,000 shoes!

Mohop shoes are very comfortable. The curved shape of the footbed provides even support along the length of the foot, alleviating the typical fatigue points at the heel or ball of the foot. Mohop's proprietary elastic loops allow the ribbon ties to move with the foot, eliminating the blisters and chafing associated with most new sandals.

Mohops are meant to be worn frequently and eventually they may get dirty or scratched. The shoes feature a durable hand-rubbed finish - to clean, simply wipe them with cool water and a mild detergent. Rubbing a dab of olive oil on any scratches will make them virtually disappear. Most ribbons can be hand washed.

About the Designers:

Annie Mohaupt grew up on a small sheep farm about 100 miles west of Chicago. Her greatest inspiration growing up was her mother, an original do-it-yourselfer who could do anything from weaving an award-winning cape from the wool of her sheep to changing out the muffler on her car.

Annie's degree is in architecture, and she worked in the field for close to 7 years. Annie started making sandals in 2005 as an experiment to see if she could indeed make sandals. It was more work than she expected.

If Annie didn't spend all her time making shoes and thinking about making shoes, she would enjoy: going to the movies; game nights; tea time; fat novels; slow jogs with Kiddo the Dog; and vegan cupcakes.

Siamak Mostoufi was born in Ahwaz, Iran and moved to Illinois with his American mother and Iranian father in 1979. Siamak grew up in a small town outside of Springfield where he enjoyed taking things apart, drawing and cycling.

Siamak has a couple degrees in architecture. In addition to working full time at DMAC Architecture, renovating their old house and taking his architectural licensing exams, Siamak works on, does all of the admin work for the shoe business, and helps carry heavy stuff.
